Aberdeenshire Council
Aberdeenshire Council forms part of the North East Scotland Biodiversity Partnership.
Everywhere you look, walk, smell, touch – Aberdeenshire is jammed packed full with some of the richest and most unique biodiversity.
We know Aberdeenshire is a special place, one that we love, hold dear, and care for – for very important reasons. The richness of Aberdeenshire’s biodiversity creates a sense of place, provides for the health and wellbeing of our residents, as well as being at the heart of sustaining employment in agriculture, tourism and many other sectors.
From a Council point of view we also recognise that through all of the things that we do and services we provide, we can have an impact on this biodiversity. This is the reason we have a clear Environmental and Climate Change Policy setting out a commitment to ‘Conserve the natural and historic environment by protecting and enhancing landscape, biodiversity and historic assets’.
And as ever we cannot do this alone – it’s a team effort. Partnership working is key, which is the reason we are a proud and committed partner in the North East Scotland Biodiversity Partnership.
