What is biodiversity?
Biodiversity, short for biological diversity, can be defined as "the variety of life, the great richness of living things in the natural world".
Biodiversity includes: plants, animals, fungi, bacteria and also the diversity of habitats e.g. woodland

People cannot live without other organisms. These are a few of the processes that would not occur without other living things:
• Soil creation
• Production of oxygen
• Water cycling
• Pollination
